Join us on January 23, 2018 as we learn from Jim Jacoby of Tri-Sen Systems Corporation who will highlight recent changes to API 670 and 612 with regards to turbine safety.
As the industry has evolved regarding safety, most clients are aware of the need for a comprehensive approach to turbine safety. To that end, a refinement is reflected in the latest editions of industry standards such as API 612 (Special Purpose Steam Turbines for Petroleum, Chemical and Gas Industry Services) and API 670 (Machinery Protection Systems). The new standards cover the importance of considering the performance of all components in the “turbine safety chain.” The end goal of the turbine safety design is to prevent the occurrence of overspeed events.
Jim Jacoby is the Vice President of Technology for Tri-Sen Systems Corporation based in Webster, TX.
Jim has accumulated over forty years of experience in the application, manufacturing and control of large rotating machinery for the petrochemical, refining and power industries.
