Wireless Technology 101: No Fear
With all the emerging reliable and secure wireless technology there is a renewed interest in applying it to existing and newly engineered control systems.
Join us in October as we learn from Ken Majerus of Prosoft about how to use all the proper tools and support to select the right frequency, as well as how to determine the right type of wireless technology and antennas to use with your wireless application. Ken will walk us through the basic steps to get us started and will also show us where to look for any help we may need in designing a successful installation. Ken has over 10 years’ experience designing control systems. During his time at ProSoft he has been involved in the specifying of wireless systems and assisted field engineers with path studies and installations.
Technologies to be Covered include:
- Spread Spectrum Frequency Hopping
- 802.11abg and 802.11n in the 900MH
- 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands using omni, yagi and parabolic antennas
- Applications include overhead cranes
- HART back-haul
- Roaming vehicles
- Remote monitoring
- Rotating equipment
- Data collection
- more!
