October 2018 Technical Meeting – Chicago Area

Wednesday, October 17, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

How Steam Conditioning Valves Improve Your Process

Please join us on for a technical presentation by David Tamm of Samson Controls on the topic of “How Steam Conditioning Valves Improve Your Process”.  This topic is being offered on two separate nights at different locations in the Chicago-land area.  You can attend on October 16th in Plainfield, IL or October 17th in Oak Brook, IL.  See below for additional details on the locations.

This presentation will provide an introduction into the physics of steam, the challenges associated with this process media, superheating and desuperheating processes, the functionality of steam conditioning valves and increase performance compared to different desuperheating techniques and the pros and cons of various methods of steam desuperheating used in industrial processing plants. The presentation will provide practical examples of steam condition valves in use in several different industrial processes.

Mr. Tamm is a 2009 graduate of the University of Houston with a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Since working with Samson he has been assigned to the Samson AG Headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany as the product manager for control valves specializing in steam conditioning applications and is currently the Senior Manager of Product Management and R&D at Samson Controls in Baytown, TX.  During his tenure with Samson he has been exposed to numerous industrial steam conditioning applications, the problems resulting from the use of improper equipment and installations, and how to resolve those problems through the use of engineered products.  These experiences have placed him in the unique position to gain valuable knowledge and expertise of process steam applications and allowed him to become a subject matter expert on this complex topic.
