Variable Speed Drives

Join us on February 19, 2019 as we learn from Thomas J Svoren of Rockwell Automation who will discuss Variable Speed Drives.

There are many VFD installed in our manufacturing plants.  As technology evolves, Reflective Wave, Harmonic, and Common Mode Noise are becoming more common.  This session will explore the differences between these phenomena’s how to recognize which one you have, and what are effective remediation methods.

Tom is a Project Application Engineer for Rockwell Automation.   He has held various positions related to the field of electrical/electronic control of industrial automation over the past 25 years.  Tom is a graduate from Marquette University in 1992 with a Degree in Electrical Engineering.  Tom has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of Adjustable Speed AC Motor Drive Technology.  This knowledge and experience is used to solve and explain some of the most complicated issues associated with installation and applications of Rockwell Automation products.  He functions as Technical Advisor for Rockwell Automation’s  Adjustable Speed AC Motor Drives Technical Support.
