Any Way You Want It: The Instrument Specification Process
Join us on 2/28/17 as we learn from Eric Lofland – Ambitech and Joe Baffoe – Valdes who will discuss how proper datasheet development can help lead to the successful engineering projects.
Data sheets are used in essentially all engineering projects. The livelihood of a project significantly depends on well-developed datasheets. This presentation will cover the different types of ISA datasheets, their purpose, how to find them and their basic structure. Best practices for specifying instrumentation and equipment data sheets will be shown through several real life examples that make appropriate use of process information, materials and other engineering components.
Eric Lofland, Senior Engineer at Ambitech, graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Florida State University. Eric has worked with Ambitech for 5 years, where he provides instrumentation design services to refineries and chemical plants. He specializes in materials and instrument specifications that interface directly with chemical processes.
Joe Baffoe, Senior Engineer at Valdes, is a process engineer with ten years of experience in refineries, utilities and specialty chemicals. He holds a B.S.Ch.E. from Purdue University, a M.S. Ch.E. from Illinois Institute of Technology and is a registered professional engineer in Illinois.
Topics to be Covered:
ISA Datasheets
Datasheet specification process
Engineering examples using datasheets
