October 2020 Technical Meeting

Tuesday, October 20, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

As emerging technologies like augmented reality, virtual reality and artificial intelligence become more prevalent in the technology sector, specific elements have been found to lend themselves very well toward industrial environments. Augmented reality, in particular, provides benefits for a wide range of applications within the instrumentation and process control industry to help reduce costs and improve operations. Augmented reality can help to improve traceability, reduce training costs, along with helping to improve maintenance and operations. Another great benefit to using augmented reality technology is to provide a window into the virtual world toward presenting live instrumentation data in real time. Come see Jon Herrity from Standard Electric explain how “AR” can be leveraged to improve navigation of the virtual realm.

Jon Herrity has been working with industrial automation products and technologies for 15 years. Jon graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at the Mitsubishi Electric factory in Himeji, Japan for 3 years providing overseas technical support for micro PLCs and HMIs. Jon has been working in electrical distribution for 7 years.
