Tuesday, April 9, 2013 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Control Valve Sizing for Liquid Applications

Join us in April as we learn from Steven Hocurscak – FCx Performance who will outline the many factors that must be considered when sizing a control valve in liquid applications.

He will also discuss three of the biggest obstacles in the application of control valves: cavitation, flashing, and over sizing. He will define these phenomena, discuss how they impact the application, and discuss guidelines to avoid them.

Mr. Hocurscak has 7 years experience working with Metso, with the last 5 years specifically devoted to control valves. He has been a long time advocate for proper control valve sizing, as well as the education of engineering firms and end users of tools in the industry that can be used to decrease process variability and increase profitability. Mr. Hocurscak’s current role with Metso is the North American Business Manager for the metal seated valve product line.

Topics to be Covered:

  • Control Valve Sizing for Liquids
  • Impacts of Cavitation, Flashing, and Over Sizing
  • Guidelines to Avoid Issues in Liquid Applications
