Utilities\, oil & gas\, manufacturing\, and many more industries are faced with changing and demanding regulations that increase the pressure to protect a business’s resources and reputation. Fines\, penalties\, job losses\, etc. are consequences for failing to meet these standards. Federal and state regulations have caused stakeholders to question existing application development processes within their companies and seek alternative approaches to the conventional way. In this presentation\, we will review common things to consider when building a dashboard and how modern technology such as modularity and composability can help organizations adapt and be resilient to changing demands. Note: This presentation will focus more on utilities\, but we have a regulatory expert in attendance who is available to answer specific questions in a variety of industries. \nVandhana Rabindranath leads Business Development for Entando in North America. Her unofficial title is “Digital Trailblazer.” Starting off her career as an environmental technician at a wastewater plant\, it wasn’t long before she rediscovered her passion for sales & marketing and went in that direction. She has 10 years of industrial automation sales experience in energy\, utility\, pharmaceutical\, chemical\, food & beverage\, and oil & gas industries. Vandhana is President of the Will-DuPage section for International Society of Automation (ISA). She is also involved in the Women’s Energy Network\, Rahab’s Daughters\, and Polished Pebbles. She has a B.S. in Environmental Science from University of Nebraska – Lincoln. Outside of her career\, Vandhana enjoys running\, tropical destinations\, reading\, coffee shops\, making new friends\, volunteering at church\, and entrepreneurial ventures. \nChris Lamoureux is the Chief Operating Officer at Veriday out of Canada. His passion for helping clients with regulatory concerns has helped him to be a recognized expert in digital transformation and program management. He has over 30 years of digital transformation experience across manufacturing\, utilities\, banking\, wealth\, retail\, telecommunications and public sectors. Chris is an avid golfer and just recently started taking up skiing! \nHappy Hour Sponsored by Entando\nIn Person AND Virtual Event! \nWe are back to hosting meetings In Person! We hope to see you there. If you are unable to attend in person\, we are excited to share this topic Virtually as well! The attackers successfully increased the concentration of sodium hydroxide (also known as lye) by a factor of 100 risking potential illness for the public as well as significant erosion and pipe damage. Fortunately\, operators of the Oldsmar water treatment facility saw the attackers increase the concentration and were able to return the concentration to normal levels before there was any risk for harm to the public. This near-miss highlights several important trends for industrial cybersecurity: Industrial cybersecurity incidents can have major health and safety implications\, Critical infrastructure makes an attractive target to a variety of hackers\, Critical infrastructure is highly susceptible to cybersecurity attack. In this webinar we will review what is known so far about the attack on the Florida water system and identify practical steps that can be taken to improve the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure systems. \nPatrick O’Brien has five years of experience as a Safety and Cybersecurity Engineer at exida LLC. He leads a variety of functional safety and cybersecurity consulting services and training courses for end user industrial facilities. He specializes in gap analysis\, risk assessment techniques\, and subsequent safety/cybersecurity lifecycle tasks. He has significant experience as a project lead for multiple PHAs/HAZOPs\, LOPAs\, SRS\, SIL verifications\, functional safety management\, cybersecurity risk assessments\, and cybersecurity management across many industries including oil and gas\, specialty chemical\, machinery\, and robotics. He is a coauthor of Implementing IEC 62443: A Pragmatic Approach to Cybersecurity one of the first book published on industrial cybersecurity. Additionally\, he has developed training courses\, parts of the Certified Automation Cybersecurity Expert (CACE) exam\, a suite of functional safety and cybersecurity management templates\, and user tutorials for the exSILentia® software platform\, including significant work with the exSILentia Cyber™ tools. Patrick holds a BS in Chemical Engineering & German Language and Culture from the Pennsylvania State University. Years ago\, maintaining a performance specification of ±1% of span was difficult\, but today’s instrumentation can easily exceed that level on an annual basis. In some instances\, technicians are using old test equipment that does not meet new technology specifications. This paper focuses on establishing base line performance testing where analysis of testing parameters (mainly tolerances\, intervals and test point schemes) can be analyzed and adjusted to meet optimal performance. Risk considerations will also be discussed – regulatory\, safety\, quality\, efficiency\, downtime and other critical parameters. A good understanding of these variables will help in making the best decisions on how to calibrate plant instrumentation and how to improve outdated practices. \nNed has been promoting and developing best practices for calibration management for over 25 years. He contributed to “The Engineer’s Guide to Industrial Temperature Measurement”. Ned consults on calibration best practices and provides technical support to Beamex customers as well as the sales team in the United States. \nVirtual Event! \nWe will be hosting this meeting Virtually!  Details to join the meeting will be distributed to registered attendees the day before the meeting.  You must register to get a link to the event.  Note the presentation will start at 7:00 pm. \n[/et_pb_text][et_pb_code admin_label=”Code” _builder_version=”4.8.0″ _module_preset=”default”] \nRegister Now!Buy Tickets on Eventbrite \n\n \n[/et_pb_code][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
